TVCC making first appearance with 7-5 win over Paris

CORSICANA — The Trinity Valley Community College Lady Cardinals held on Saturday afternoon over the Paris Lady Dragons, 7-5, to advance to their first national tournament appearance in the program's five year history.

TVCC score all seven of their runs in the first three innings off Paris pitchers Sarah Smeltzer and Chancy Williams to secure the win.

Chyna Phipps led the way for the Lady Cardinals going 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Kimberly Leschber picked up the win, while Kayla Cosby picked up the save.

TVCC looks to win the Region XIV championship as the No. 4 seed Sunday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. against the winner of the Paris and Blinn contest at 10 a.m

The national tournament is in St. George, Utah May 15-18.
