26TH ANNUAL COACHES PLAYDAY: Another successful playday

42 golfers take part in annual event at Twin Lakes Golf Course

CANTON — Forty two participants were met with perfect conditions last Friday at Twin Lakes Golf Course for the 26th annual Coaches Playday.

The annual golf tournament, sponsored by Trinity Valley Community College and the Athens Review, saw the team of Eustace coaches Chris Powers and Cody Taylor along with TVCC coaches Will Reed and Blake Bryan and Jeff Weinstein won the tournament with a 62.

They won by one shot over the team of Tracy Carter, Jeff Lee, Brad Smiley and Jim Wommack. Three teams finished tied for third with a round of 66.

Jim Owens was recognized prior to the start of the tournament when he was given the annual C.O. Phillips Memorial Award. The award is given to a regular Playday participant and an avid ambassador of the game of golf.
