Dear Parents and Prospective Football Players,
The time has come again for football. The Varsity began practice on August 5, and the Middle School will soon begin practice as well. This letter is being sent out to inform all parents of all incoming athletes’ upcoming events, as well as paperwork that will be required from students.
Seventh Graders will be expected to have a physical completed with the proper paperwork turned in to Rebecca Wilder, the District Athletic Trainer, or Cody Hines, the Middle School Coordinator. This completed physical is paramount to your athlete participating. UIL regulations are very clear and no active participation will be allowed until this is turned in.
Both grades will be expected to turn in a rules acknowledgement form for the district and for UIL.
Please consider the following dates:
August 20, 2013 — Seventh Graders: The Middle School Coaches will be available from 5:30pm-6:30pm to outfit your students with headgear, shoulder pads, and other associated equipment.
Eighth Graders: The Middle School Coaches will be available from 6:30pm-7:30pm to outfit your students with headgear, shoulder pads, and other associated equipment.
August 26, 2013 — This is the first day of school.
August 27, 2013 — Seventh Graders: Practices will be beginning at 8th period, the last period of the day, and will last until 4:30. The students will be ready to be picked at 4:45 every afternoon.
Eighth Graders: Practices will be beginning at 7:00AM every morning and the students will need to be at the school by 6:45AM so that practice can begin on time. Practice will end during 1st period. Students will be given adequate time to prepare for their 2nd period class.
This schedule will remain in effect with the exception of the week of September 30-October 3, this is our open week and practice will be abbreviated during this week.
Coaches will notify your athletes if there will be any change to the practice schedule.
