EUSTACE —
The Eustace Bulldogs opened District 13-2A play Tuesday night with a 41-27 loss to the Malakoff Tigers.
Malakoff held a, 19-14, lead at the half but scored 15 points in the third quarter to take a 34-20 lead.
Demontes Dowell led Malakoff with a game-high 17 points and Keonte Ross finished with nine points.
Eustace was led by John Bradburn with 12 points.
The Bulldogs return to action Friday at Kemp. The game is scheduled to tipoff at noon.
Girls
Malakoff 51, Eustace 37
EUSTACE — The Malakoff Lady Tiger's improved to 2-1 in district play with a 51-37 win over the Eustace Lady Bulldogs.
Taye Jackson had a double-double for the Lady Tigers with 21 points and 14 rebounds.
Hayley Thomas added nine points for the Lady Tigers.
Malakoff held a, 23-17, lead at the half and extended their lead to 40-27 after three quarters of play.
Eustace was led by Kacie Richards with a game-high 24 points.
The Lady Tigers return to action Friday at Palmer.
The junior varsity boys and girls will start at 3 p.m. followed by the varsity boys and then varsity girls.
