ATHENS — Athens senior guard Alex Furr was named District 20-3A’s Most Valuable Player when All-District basketball selections were announced recently.
Furr, a Fresno State signee, averaged 35.8 points per game and scored a career high 52 this season against John Tyler.
Treka Franklin, who averaged 8.2 points per game, was named Freshman of the Year.
Fellow freshman Demi Cumby was also a first-team pick, and senior Nicole Graham was named to the second team.
