The Megaladon swim team from the Cain Center qualified 20 swimmers for the national meet in Lincoln, Neb. on July 28-August 2, 2015.
The team sent 22 swimmers to the Texas Amateur Athletic Foundation Winter State Games of Texas.
The swimmers were of various ages and coach Willy Robson said they had a good meet.
The team set seven state records, won 38 medals and 15 ribbons during the two day meet.
“We swam really good during the meet and I think it was a good day by all,” Robson said.
They won eight golds, four silvers and 10 bronze medals in the individual races and relays.
Cecilia Boyles, Dr. Sherri Robson, Willy Robson and Dr. Sue Ellen Vandercoff were the racers who set the state records.
Sherri set her records in the 50 backstroke and the 50 breast stroke, while Willy set his records in the breaststroke and the back stroke.
Robson said he has swimmers from Palestine, Mt. Pleasant, Chandler and Henderson County that participate on the team.
The swimmers will be getting ready for the summer regionals along with the state meet the last weekend of July at Texas A & M University.
The team will now take part in the East Texas Swim League during the summer and the USA Swim league to prepare for the national meet.
