WILLS POINT — The Athens Lady Hornets came up short against the Wills Point Lady Tigers Tuesday night in a 65-51 loss.
The Lady Hornets were led by senior guard Demi Cumby, who scored 16 points and pulled down four rebounds. Caridad Aguilera had a double-double with 12 points and 19 rebounds, while teammate Leah Lawrence added 12 points.
The Lady Hornets trailed 28-26 at the half and 45-44 after three quarters of play.
Athens travels to New Summerfield on Friday night for a 6:15 p.m. tipoff.
Wills Point JV 45, Athens JV 23
WILLS POINT — Alivia Cook led the Athens junior varsity with eight points and seven rebounds during their loss to Wills Point Tuesday night.
Other scorers for the Lady Hornets were Aaliyah Moore with six points, Dezeray Givens with four points, Tania Platt and CeCe Monmouth with two points each and Erianna Marshall with one point.
Crandall 44, Mabank 38
MABANK — Coach Ashleigh Weeaks’ Mabank Lady Panthers dropped a hard-fought contest to the Crandall Lady Pirates, 44-38, Tuesday night.
The Lady Panthers were led by Kourtney Holyfield with 12 points and five rebounds, while teammate Kaitlyn Holyfield had eight points and one rebound.

Eustace 27
EUSTACE — The Eustace Bulldogs fell to the Mineola Yellowjackets Tuesday night 58-27.
The Bulldogs’ could never get anything going offensively and Mineola pulled away in the second half.
Mineola held a 21-12 lead at the half and a 40-20 lead after three quarters.
