Athens —
The Athens Bass Club held their January club tournament this past weekend at Lake Palestine.
The winning team was Jason Walker and Jason Brooks with a 8.72 pound total.
13 teams took part in the tournament.
None of the teams were able to make the five fish limit.
Second place honors went to Pam and Zay Ridgle with an 8.14 pound limit.
Third place went to Tyler Hobbs and Frank Kirk at 7.06 pounds.
The big bass winner went to Walker and Brooks with a 4.92 pound catch.

George hits hole in one at Echo Creek
Tyler George hit a hole-in-one on the seventh hole at Echo Creek Country Club on Saturday.
George used a seven iron as Geoff Woods, Devon Perkins and Brandon Cannon witnessed the shot.
TVCC split games against TJC Saturday
The No. 3-ranked Trinity Valley Community College Lady Cardinals improved to 18-1 on the season following an an 86-65 win over the TJC Lady Apaches on Saturday afternoon.
The TVCC Cardinals lost a hard-fought contest 65-61 over Tyler on Saturday.
The Lady Cardinals host Jacksonville College Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m. at Cardinal Gymnasium.
TVCC webcast set for this Saturday
The Cardinal Sports Network returns for their second webcasts of the season Saturday with a men’s basketball contest.
The Cardinals face the Panola Ponies at 4 p.m. at Cardinal Gym.
