Brownsboro's Sidney Hightower had a double-double for the Bearettes in their 50-47 District 15-3A win over Athens Friday night.
Hightower had a team-high 17 points and 16 rebounds as the Bearettes improved to 2-3 in district play.
Brownsboro held a 49-48 lead with 19 seconds to play and held on for the win as Victoria Walker stole the inbounds pass from Demi Cumby with two seconds remaining.
Cumby scored a game-high 20 points.
Teammates Bryla Barker and Cari Aguilera scored 10 points each for the Lady Hornets.

MABANK — In a battle of district leading teams, the Mineola Lady Jackets handed Mabank their first loss of the District 15-3A campaign.
Mabank held a 25-16 lead at the intermission. They were outscored 16-11 in the second half.
Kourtney Holyfield had a game-high 18 points, eight steals and one rebound, while Bailey Swain added eight points and five rebounds and one steal.
Mabank returns to the hardwood tonight against the Van Lady Vandals. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m.

BROWNSBORO — The Athens Hornets dropped to 1-2 in District 15-3A play as Brownsboro's Blake Ralson drained a three-pointer at the buzzer for the win.
Athens took the lead with three seconds left to go up, 56-55, for their first lead since the start of the third quarter.
Davonte Givens had a double-double for the Bears with 13 points and 12 rebounds, while teammates Will Bailey had eight points and five rebounds.
Patrick McCarthy had eight points and six rebound off the bench.
Anthony Sanders had a game-high 16 points in the loss.
