HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Brownsboro teams finish strong in weekend tournament action

BROWNSBORO — Brownsboro picked up two big wins in the Brownsboro Bearette Doubleheader this past weekend.

The Bearettes defeated Whitehouse 38-31 and Palestine Westwood 38-35.

In the win over Whitehouse, the Bearettes were led by Bri Warren with seven points, while Devin Carver, Shelbie Bagby, Sidney Hightower and Madison Montgomery scored five points each.

In their win over Westwood, Alexander led the way with nine points, while Hightower and Manning scored eight points each.

In other action for Brownsboro teams, the freshman team defeated the Whitehouse junior varsity 36-21,  and Whitehouse 49-12.

In junior varsity action, Brownsboro won 33-24 and 53-8 over Palestine Westwood.

BHS finishes runner up at Tyler tourney

TYLER — The Brownsboro Bears finished as the runner up in the Apache bracket with a 68-61 loss to Grace Community over the weekend at the Wagstaff Holiday Classic.

BHS trailed 47-42 after three quarters and outscored Grace, 19-14 in the final  quarter.

Quentin McKenzie led Brownsboro with 20 points,    while Tamrick Pace finished with 13 points.
