For the first time in school history, the Trinity Valley Community College volleyball team is ranked in the top 20 in the nation.
The Lady Cardinals are ranked No. 19 heading into the Region XIV tournament next weekend at Tyler Junior College.
Coach Tosha Spain’s team is 19-13 on the season with a non-conference finale Tuesday, Nov. 4 at Hill College.
Eustace LadyDogs lose to Palmer
EUSTACE — The No. 10-ranked Eustace LadyDogs lost to Palmer in the regular season finale Tuesday night.
Palmer beat Eustace by scores of 25-23, 25-23, 13-25 and 25-18.
With the loss, the LadyDogs finished district play at 15-1, while Palmer went 13-3 in district play.
Leading the Eustace attack were Caitlyn Culp with 21 kills, four aces and two blocks, Peyton Dibari with six kills, two aces and two blocks and Taylor Peebles with six kills and two blocks.
Eustace will play at Crandall this Friday for a warm up match at 4:30 p.m.
They will open the Class 2A bi-district playoffs Monday night against Edgewood.
The match will be in Wills Point at 6 p.m.
Eustace beat Edgewood in four games last year in the bi-district round.
Mabank playoffs set for Tuesday night
MABANK — The Mabank Lady Panthers will open the Class 3A bi-district playoffs Tuesday night against Henderson.
The match will begin at 7 p.m. at Whitehouse High School.
Mabank finished as the No. 2 seed in District 15-3A play behind No. 6-ranked Van Lady Vandals.
Hole-in-one hit at Echo Country Club
MURCHISON — Billy Pollard hit a hole-in-one on Oct. 9 at Echo Creek Country Club.
Pollard hit the shot on No. 11 with a 7-iron.
Witnessing the shot was Mike Sutter, J.D. Huckabee and Joe Cantrell.
TVCC football facing Blinn in playoffs
The No. 10-ranked TVCC Cardinals will be hosting the Blinn Buccaneers on Saturday.
The semifinal match up will take place at 3 p.m. at Bruce Field.
If TVCC wins, they will host the winner of the Navarro vs. Tyler contest Nov. 9 at Bruce Field for the championship.

The two-time national champion Lady Cardinals will open the home portion of its schedule Tuesday night.
The No. 1-ranked Lady Cardinals host Coastal Bend in a 5:30 p.m. tip off at Cardinal Gym.
