AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: Youth soccer signups start this weekend

Athens — Youth soccer signups begin this weekend and last through Feb. 17 at Hibbett Sports.

Registration is set for Saturday's from 10-4 p.m. and Sunday's from Noon to 4 p.m.

The cost is $65 for new players and $55 for returning players.

2013 ATBA signups begin this weekend

The 2013 season for the Athens Teen Baseball Association will begin signups this Saturday.

The signups are being held at Coleman Park from 9 a.m. to Noon.

Dads who would like to coach can get information during signups.

The cost is $85 for the first player, $75 for a second player in the same family and $50 each for three or more kids in the same family.

Other signup days are Feb. 9, 16 and 23 at Coleman Park.

TVCC defeats Panola 73-53 in region play

The No. 3-ranked TVCC Lady Cardinals defeated Panola during a 73-53 win on Saturday.

Freshman Shlonte' Allen scored 38 points for the Lady Cardinals in the win against Panola. She had 7 three-pointers.

With the win, coach Elena Lovato’s team is now 20-1 on the season.

They will face Paris tonight at Cardinal Gym. Tipoff for the game is set for 5:30 p.m.

TVCC-Paris game to be webcast tonight

The Cardinal Sports Network will broadcast their third webcast of the year tonight against Paris.

Pre-game coverage starts at 5:20 p.m.
