AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: CR picks up fourth win, beats Trinidad, 39-12

CROSS ROADS — The Cross Roads LadyCats remained undefeated with a 39-12 win over Trinidad last Friday.

CRHS (4-0) will play All Saints tonight with a varsity only contest at 5:30 p.m.

Leading the way on Friday was Paulette Burgess with 22 points and six steals, Rebecca Kramer with six points, Kelsi Lookabaugh with six points and five steals, Kourtney Hazelip with three points and six steals and Sara Spivey with two points.

Coach Giff Durham said Avery Newman, Cnai Wilson and Pepper Norwood contributed in the win.

TVCC men lose to Ranger, 52-46

The Trinity Valley Community College men’s basketball team lost its first game of the season, 52-46, to Ranger College on Saturday.

The Cardinals (7-1) return to the court Friday night at home against Kingdom Prep. Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m.

In women’s action, TVCCC improved to 4-0 on the season with a 96-26 win over Coastal Bend on Saturday.

Leading scorers were Jazmine Spears with 20 points, Adut Bulgak with 19, Deborah Meeks with 14 points and Julianne Anchling with 10 points.
