BREAKING NEWS: TVCC selected to face Butler in Citizens Bank Bowl

ATHENS — The Trinity Valley Community College Cardinals have been selected to play in next month's Citizens Bank Bowl, to be held at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas.

The Cardinals, ranked No. 10 in the nation with an 8-2 record, will face the third-ranked Butler County (Kan.) Grizzlies, who are 10-1. Butler won 10 straight games this season after losing to Navarro College in the opening week.

The bowl game is set for Sunday, December 4. An official announcement is expected later today. It will be TVCC's first bowl game appearance since 2005, when the Cardinals beat NE Mississippi, 24-14, at the now-defunct Pilgrim's Pride Bowl in Mount Pleasant, Texas. TVCC has won seven consecutive bowl games and is 9-8 all-time.
