AREA VOLLEYBALL: TVCC Lady Cards finish 2-1 in scrimmage action

FARMERS BRANCH — The TVCC Lady Cardinals went 2-1 in scrimmage action in Dallas this weekend.

Coach Tosha Spain's squad defeated Cisco and host Brookhaven and lost to San Jacinto, falling 26-24 in the decisive set.

The Lady Cardinals are scheduled to open the season in tournament action this Friday and Saturday at Brookhaven.

Their first home game is Sept. 11 against Paris.

CRHS finishes third at Westwood tourney

PALESTINE — The Cross Roads LadyCats finished the Palestine Westwood tournament in third place this past weekend.

Coach Giff Durham’s team beat T.K. Gorman 25-18, 25-17.

The LadyCats are 4-4 on the year.

Eustace wins Van volleyball tourney

VAN — The Eustace Bulldogs won the Gold Bracket championship at the Van Tournament this past weekend.

Eustace went 2-1 in pool play. They beat Big Sandy, Brownsboro, and Harmony to win the championship of their bracket.
