BROWNSBORO — The Brownsboro Bears closed the non-district portion of their schedule in upset fashion Friday night, knocking off the unbeaten Rusk Eagles, 42-21.

The Bears rolled to 442 yards of offense in raising their record to 3-2. Rusk fell to 4-1.

Brownsboro quarterback Shelby Rogers connected on eight-of-12 passes for 186 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He also rushed for 125 yards on 20 carries.

After Brownsboro built a 21-7 lead, Rusk made it 21-14 on a 13-yard pass from Kodey Stanley to Ray Foreman. But Brownsboro had an immediate answer on a 31-yards scoring strike from Rogers to Tyler Thomison.

The Bears carried a 35-14 lead into the fourth quarter on a one-yard Rogers run late in the third quarter.
