SAN ANTONIO — Trinity Valley’s scheduled doubleheader against Grayson scheduled for Monday was canceled due to inclement weather.
No reschedule date has been announced.
The Lady Cardinals picked up their first win over the weekend against Our Lady of the Lakes in San Antonio. They dropped the first game of the doubleheader, 3-1, but won the second game, 8-1, to improve to 1-3 on the young season.
In Game 1, Randi Smith got the start in the circle and made few mistakes — with one of them coming on a solo home run in the second inning.
TVCC was shut down until the sixth inning, when Terri Martinez reached on a single and Smith drove her in with a double to the fence. OLLU re-took the lead with a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth.
Ashley Hudson took the circle and picked up the win for TVCC in Game 2. She threw three shutout innings. Amanda Peiser finished off the win with one unearned run.
Keanna Winkfield had a leadoff homer and Smith also hit a solo shot.
The Lady Cards travel to Fort Worth for the Cowtown Classic beginning Thursday.
