SUMMER CAMPS: Athens ISD hosting summer camps starting June 11

Athens — Athens ISD has set three camps for this summer according to athletic director Paul Essary.

The 2013 edition of the Athens Hornets football camp is scheduled for July 23-25 at Bruce Field. There are two sessions with the first through six grade having their camp from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.

The seventh through ninth grade camp will run from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

The camp will be hosted by Essary and the Athens Hornets football staff. Cost of the camp is $50 and all campers will receive a camp t-shirt.

The Athens Lady Hornets will host a volleyball and basketball camp on June 11-13 at the Athens ISD gymnasium.

The camp is for girls entering the third through nine grade.

The purpose of the camps is to help athletes with the fundamentals of volleyball and basketball with emphasis in key areas.

Attention will be given to team involvement, enthusiasm, motivation, discipline and self-confidence.

Registration and check-in will be held on June 11 from 8-to-9 a.m. for a cost of $30 per participant.

You are asked to return the application  for correct t-shirt size and the fee to reserve a place in the camp.

BHS Bearette Softball Camp

BROWNSBORO — The Brownsboro Bearette Softball Camp is set for June 4-7 at the Brownsboro High School Field on the campus of Brownsboro High School. Cost is $35 per camper.

The camp will be coached by Meredith Grant, and the rest of the coaching staff.
