DID YOU KNOW?: The Athens Hornets won their final three games after a 1-6 start to qualify for the playoffs ... The Kilgore Bulldogs were 8-0 heading into last week’s 16-3A championship game. They played only nine games during the regular season because lightning prematurely ended their Sept. 14 game against Pine Tree ... The Bulldogs, ranked as high as No. 4 in Class 3A this season, were regional quarterfinalists in their last season in 4A a year ago before dropping a classification in realignment.
