ROUND ROCK —
Round Rock, here they come — again.
The Eustace boys cross country team is once again headed to state after claiming a Region II-2A championship this past weekend at Vandergriff Park in Arlington. Eustace is also sending a female runner — Michelle Gomez, who finished sixth overall.
The state meet will be held this Saturday at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. Eustace was fourth overall at last year’s meet for the best finish in school history.
The boys scored 36 points to win their meet that included 23 teams and 168 individuals. They were lead by Evan Arambula who was the individual champion, running a time of 15:56. Next was Mark Zimmerer, who placed 4th and ran a 16:47; Jason Ballenger placed 8th and ran a time of 17:02; Hunter Rose placed 11th with a time of 17:08; Gavin Kirkhart placed 21st and ran a 17:38; Preston Schwartz placed 34th and ran a 18:13; and Austin Givan placed 124th and ran a 20:38.

Samantha Crocker placed 26th and ran a 13:19; Meagan Gunter, Noa Taylor, and Casey Bramblitt placed 40th, 45th, and 49th running 13:44, 13:50, and 13:55; Madi Allen placed 52nd and ran a 14:00; and Crystal Garza placed 104nd and ran a 14:59.
