The state high school baseball playoffs head into the area round this week with three Henderson County area teams still in contention.
Cross Roads, Eustace and Kemp will all be involved in best-of-three area series later this week. Cross Roads and Eustace had byes in the first round and Kemp swept Brownsboro in a best-of-three bi-district series.
Cross Roads is scheduled to face Chester in a series scheduled for the Rusk High School baseball field. Game 1 is at 7 p.m. Friday. Game 2 begins at 4:30 p.m. Saturday with a third game (if necessary) to follow.
Eustace has drawn Pittsburg in the area round. The series is scheduled for Greenville High School’s field with Game 1 at 7 p.m. Thursday. The second game is scheduled at 3 p.m. Saturday. Should a third game be needed, it would be played after Game 3.
Kemp tangles with Pleasant Grove at Driller Park in Kilgore. Game 1 is set for 7 p.m. Thursday. The second game is scheduled at 7 p.m. Friday. Should a third game be necessary, it would be played at noon Saturday.
