No. 3 Bullard girls crush AHS, 80-38

BULLARD — The No. 3-ranked Bullard Lady Panthers raced out to a 16-3 lead Tuesday night on their way to an 80-38 non-district blowout of the Athens Lady Hornets.

Coach Keith Durrett’s AHS squad dropped to 12-7 with the loss. Bullard improved to 19-3.

The Lady Hornets are scheduled to begin District 20-AAA action on the road Friday against Crockett. Junior varsity action begins at 5 p.m.

Bullard, led by Lamar University signee Danielle Heithoff’s 20 points, was up 41-21 at halftime.

Junior guard Alex Furr provided the bulk of the AHS scoring with 22 points, including three three-pointers.

Kemia Jordan had six points for the Lady Hornets on a pair of three-pointers. Bree Anna Tilley and Tanesha Dennis had three each and Ashley Darby and Bailey Starkes two each.

Calli Miller joined Heithoff in double figures for Bullard with 18.

The Lady Hornets’ next home game is next Tuesday against Palestine Westwood.
