The Athens Review
Athens — Regardless of our different ideas on the outcome of the election, March 2, I would like to thank the many people, aged l6 to 86, who worked the election for 12 hours that Tuesday. Many picked up materials, and set up on a cold and rainy March 1.
But the sun was out on March 2, and across our county election workers started early and stayed late so that you and I could exercise our right to vote for the candidates of our choice.
Our Country is great, largely because we honor and respect Democracy, which depends on voters exercising the right to vote, and then respecting the decision of the voters.
Americans may disagree on things, but we must always respect the process by which we elect our leaders. Thank you, election workers, for being a part of that process.
Your contribution of time, energy and enthusiasm is priceless. We could never repay you for the great job that you did. I hope you know what a gift this is to your State and your Country.
Thanks again for helping to work for a better Texas and America,
Marsha Head
