MAIL CALL: Supporting a great citizen soldier

I have a few words for the people of Henderson County:

Several months ago Scott Mckee was elected to be District Attorney for all of us. I, for one, voted for him — and am glad I did — because he has done a great job. But this letter is not about the job he has done here. It is about the person and the jobs he has done.

Scott has done a great job wherever he has been as a civilian. However, he has done a greater job as a defender of this country and our way of life by being an active member of the Armed Forces.

He is once again being deployed and headed into a combat zone. We don't need to know the name of the place he is going to because the words “combat zone” say it all. I only know he will do his normal outstanding job because he is that type person.

My thanks go out to him and I wish him all the best. My thoughts and prayers are also with his wife, Ashley, and the kids, and may we do what we can to support them.

Thank God because Scott isn't the first to go. Many have gone before him and done an excellent job.

Good Luck, Captain Scott! We are rooting for you and the troops!
