MAIL CALL: Don’t take advantage of handicapped parking

On July 3, 2008, parking spots were at a premium at Wal-Mart and handicapped parking was even more difficult to find. When I finally parked I looked over at the handicapped slot next to me and saw a black Lincoln Navigator that did not have a handicapped plate or a card hanging down on the windshield.

Walking around the car while the cart boy loaded the vehicle was a person who has served on many boards and committees making Athens a better place to live.

Hopefully this person did not feel a sense of entitlement because of all their good deeds. Handicapped parking spots should be left for the handicapped.
