MAIL CALL: What is county attorney trying to pull?

Isn’t it nice that at least we have district judges that are trying to look out for the county. And we have a county auditor that is trying to get that office back to normal, as it should have been when she took office. It does seem that if (County Attorney James) Owen wants to ask for stuff as a “private citizen,” he could do the honorable thing and resign so he could be a “private citizen.” And it seems odd that since he has been there in office for seven years, that he would need things out of the auditor’s office that he doesn’t already know.

If he wants to be treated as a “private citizen” then the auditor should do to him like Mr. Owen did to me and just say she doesn’t have it. Could this just be a case of one way to harass the county auditor, because that’s what it looks like. And also, Mr. Owen, you need to get your money out to pay for all of these copies plus the labor for getting them. I have paid for copies that I got from the auditor’s office and you should, too.

In my opinion, Mr. Owen wants to see how much he can do to the county before he leaves office. After all, the county is still paying him a salary every month. To me our elected officials should want to improve relationships with everyone who is working for the county; that should be their number one priority.

After all, it’s our tax dollars you’re spending.
