MAIL CALL: Remembering Margene

I enjoyed your recent article on (Henderson County Junior College) Trinity Valley Community College’s Hall of Fame class.

Our family always attended their home games when Margene Adkins was playing. You couldn’t always see her, but you could certainly hear his mother. As soon as Henderson County Junior College had possession of the ball she would start yelling at the top of her voice:

“Give the ball to Margene! Give the ball to Margene!”

I’m sure she had confidence in him to make things happen — which he later proved.
