Kelvin Dewayne ‘DJ Earthquake’ Toliver

ATHENS — Services for Kelvin Dewayne ‘DJ Earthquake’ Toliver, 45, of Malakoff are scheduled for Saturday at First Baptist Church, Walker Street at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Nathaniel Carter officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Homes, in Malakoff.

Pallbearers will be Dewayne Grayer, Darryl Brown, Kenneth Brown, John Brown, Rodney Larry, Tonnetta Toliver, Cedric Yarbrough, Barry Killingsworth, Kenneth Frazer, Benjamin Jackson and Jerry Barron.

Toliver died on March 4, 2010, in Athens.

He was born on Dec. 2, 1964, in Athens to the late John Edward Toliver and Stella Bernice Yarbrough Toliver. Mr. Toliver graduated from Malakoff High School. He married his wife, Shirley Webb in 1986. He joined New Hope Corinth CME at an early age. Mr. Toliver worked for TDCJ as a Srgt. at Gurney Unit.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Edward Toliver; brother, Kerry Toliver; and his mother-in-law, Betty Webb.

Mr. Toliver is survived by his wife, Shirley Toliver; mother, Stella Bernice Yarbrough Toliver; two sisters, Denice Toliver and husband, Byron Eldridge, of Palestine; Sharla Toliver and Larry Smith, of Malakoff; two brothers, DeShawn Garnerway, of Kerens; Jason Brown, of Malakoff; nephews and nieces, Bryson and wife, Emma Brown, of Malakoff; Brandon Toliver, of Palestine; Unterrious Toliver, of Mabank; Bradley Smith, of Malakoff; Latavious Toliver, of Mabank; Larisha Smith, of Malakoff; Kerrian Toliver, of Malakoff; two special friends, Vivian Oliver; and Zatayvia Taylor; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday at the funeral home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
