Elder Clifford ‘Pete’ Odell Jones

Athens — Funeral services for Elder Clifford “Pete” Odell Jones, 57, of Athens are scheduled for Friday at the Church of The Living God at 1 p.m., with Eldress Mary Henderson officiating.

Burial will be at Sandflat Cemetery near Athens under the direction of Garrett & Tucker Funeral Directors in Athens.

Elder Jones was born on May 27, 1952, in Grand Prairie to the late George and Everlina Jones. He was a member and the assistant pastor at the Church of The Living God for about 40 years. He was the Shoe Shiner at the Barber Shop in downtown Athens for 30 years at the same place.

Elder Jones is survived by one brother, George Jones, Jr.; and three sisters, Inez Watson; Ada Lee Calton; and Zeffie Ree Jones.

The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
