ATHENS-Services for Gennette Miller Henson, 77, Athens, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Thursday at Virginia Hills Baptist Church with the Rev. John Hallum and the Rev. Ray Gobel officiating.
Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery.
Mrs. Henson died Dec. 17, 2012 in Athens.
She was born March 4, 1935 in Henderson County to James Albert and Monie Hendley Miller, and had been a resident of Athens most of her life. Gennette was a seamstress for Levi Strauss for numerous years. She attended Virginia Baptist Church, and was a God-fearing woman that loved the Lord. Her family saying was “Bless your heart.”
She loved to paint, make china dolls and china plates. Gennette enjoyed sharing her Christianity and life stories on Facebook. She loved her family very much.
Survivors include her husband Billy D. Henson, Athens; sons Roger D. and Glenna Henson, Colorado Springs, Colo., Mark A. and Shirley Henson, Eumpara, Kans., daughter Linda K. Carter, Athens, grandchildren Stephanie and David, Virgil and Sarah, Billy and Haley, Chance and Amanda, Perry, great-grandchildren Charlie, Emma, Henson, Sam and Tinlee.
Pallbearers will be Roger Henson, Perry Henson, Jon Johnson, Billy Carter, Chance Henson and Alan Price.
Honorary pallbearers are Mark Henson, Tommy Perce and Tony Watson.
Visitation for family and friends will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
