LARUE-Services for Durwood Dingler, 87, LaRue are scheduled for 2:00 P M Friday at LaRue Baptist Church with Rev. Olin Boles and Rev. Gary Bowman officiating.

 Burial will follow in LaRue Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home

Durwood died February 25, 2013 in Tyler.

He was born July 21, 1925 in Poynor to the late Raymond Milton and Lena Vanderver Dingler and was a life time resident of LaRue. Durwood served in the

U S Army with a tour including North Africa up through Italy during World War II. He received his purple heart in the actions at Poe Valley. He was a member of LaRue Baptist Church and had been employed many years at Athens Canning Company and Curtis Mathis Manufacturing Company. He loved gardening, hunting , fishing and visiting with friends.

  Durwood was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Dingler in 1999 and son Mackael Durwood Dingler.

 Survivors include son Randy Dingler and wife Carol, Tyler; grandchildren Kevin Dingler and wife Tracy, Cammy Hensley and husband Matt, both of Tyler; great grandchildren Macy and Lexi Meggs, Tyler; brothers Marion Dingler and wife Alice, Winona, Louie Dingler and wife Geri, Tyler; sister Gene Blackburn, Dayton, numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be John Ellis Crossley, Delbert Crawford, Marvin Miller, Joe Young, Joe Beard, Billy Cramer.

 Visitation for family and friends will be 12:30 until service time at the church.
