Christine Wimberley Hounsel

Athens — ATHENS-Services for Christine Wimberley Hounsel, 94, Athens are scheduled for 11 a.m., Tuesday in Carroll-Lehr Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ted Gross and the Rev. Mark Wimberley officiating.

Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Hounsel died Dec. 13, 2012 in Mesquite.

She was born Feb. 27, 1918 in Henderson County to the late John Kirksey and Lillie Bell Buie Wimberley, and had been a resident of the county most of her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Christine was preceded in death by her husband Royall L. Hounsel on Nov. 12, 1991, brother Carl Wimberley and a sister Grace Shiflet.

Survivors include son Ron Hounsel and wife Joy, Sunnyvale, granddaughter Melissa Hounsel, McKinney, sister Lula Bell Gross, Athens.

Pallbearers will be Mark Wimberley, Danny Wimberley, John Wimberley, Ted Gross, Bill Grimes and  Larry Zettler.

Visitation for family and friends will be 10 a.m., until service time.
