MURCHISON-Services for Thomas Brown, 82, Murchison are scheduled for 11 a.m., Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Murchison with the Rev. Lee Welch and the Rev. Bryan Adair officiating.
Burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home.
Mr. Brown died Dec. 9, 2012 in his Murchison residence.
He was born Feb. 21, 1930 in the Unity community to Tommy Paxton and JoAnna “Josie” Brown. Thomas was a 1947 graduate of Brownsboro High School. As a young man, Thomas was service manager for Kinabrew Chevrolet in Athens. He served a 38-year tenure with Lone Star Gas and Ensearch Exploration, retiring in 1995 as field supervisor.
Thomas had an avid interest in antique tractors, and enjoyed tractor shows. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Murchison, and formerly served as deacon. Thomas loved traveling in his R.V. with his family, seeing at least 45 of the 50 states. He was a faithful servant of God, a loving attentive husband, daddy and pop, and is now in his heavenly home. His compassion and love for his savior, family, church, community and friends was made evident in the way he served them. His wife, daughters and grandchildren were the lights in his blue eyes.
Survivors include wife of 62 years Joy Brown, Murchison, daughters Carole Perdue, Murchison, Becky Reagan and husband Danny, Chandler, Tomye Dan Adair and husband Bryan, Glenwood, Ark., Gina Tucker and husband Andy, Chandler, 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, sisters Opal Brown Jordan and husband Norman, Jean Brown Fowler, Austin.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Perdue, Jase Bray, Zac Reagan, Jared Bray, Josh Adair and Frank Scott.
Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Reagan, Bryan Adair and Andy Tucker.
Visitation for family and friends will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
