Hilda Giovannini Hastings

Athens — Hilda Giovannini Hastings, 89, formerly of Fairfield, passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 at her daughter's home in Athens.  Services were held 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at Round Prairie Baptist Church in Fairfield.  Interment followed at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Athens. 

Mrs. Hastings was born July 3, 1923 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to parents Luigi and Antoinette Baldelli Giovannini.  She had been residing in Athens for 10 years having moved from Fairfield. 

She retired from GTE as a telephone operator, and attended Round Prairie Baptist Church in Fairfield.  Her husband, Thomas E. (Jack) Hastings preceded her in death on April 2, 2003. 

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Diane Daniel of Athens; a son, Tommy Hastings and wife Yvonne of Trinity; a granddaughter, Christine Hastings; a grandson, Sonny Daniel and wife Jennifer of Fairfield; six great-grandchildren, Peyton, Eden, Halen, Cayson, Rylan and Levin Daniel; one brother, Elio Agostini and wife June of Fort Worth; one sister, Alma Pressley of Mansfield.
