ATHENS- A memorial service for Theo S. Daniel, III, 95, Athens, is scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Chapel with Dr. William C. McNatt officiating.
Theo died Friday, Sept. 28, 2012 in Athens.
He was born May 6, 1917 in Kerens to the late Theophilus Smith Daniel, II and Anna Hervey Daniel. Theo graduated from Kerens High School, then Texas A&M University with a degree in Landscape Architecture. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1941. Theo owned the oldest continually-operated nursery in the United States. Mr. Daniel held 5 patents on his creations of Yaupon Holly. He was chairman of Henderson County Historical Commission 30 years, and post-commander of American Legion 10 years. Theo was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was an author and published six books.
Theo is preceded in death by his loving wife Ila Marie “Trixie” Carnes Daniel, granddaughter Cortni Clemente,
Survivors are daughter Patti Clemente and grandson Chad Clemente, sister-in-law Sandra Price, brother-in-law John Price, all of Athens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Cortni Clemente Memorial Scholarship Fund at Brownsboro High School.
