Ray Lindamood of Lindale passed away on Nov. 10, 2012 at the age of 80. Ray was born on Jan. 6, 1932 in Malakoff to Raymond K. Lindamood and Lillie Robertson Lindamood. He spent his childhood years in Malakoff, and graduated from Malakoff High School in the Class of 1949.
After graduation, he attended Henderson County Junior College. Ray served this country as a member of the U.S. Air Force. After his honorable discharge from military service, Ray served on the Dallas Fire Department for 22 years, retiring in 1982 at the rank of Lieutenant. After retirement, he started his own company, Ray’s Dental Lab, and enjoyed working with local dentists in providing dental restoration products.
Ray Lindamood met a beautiful young lady, Betty Jo Baldwin, of Lindale, while he was visiting Dallas in 1953. They fell in love, and were married later that same year. Ray and Betty Lindamood recently marked their 59th Wedding Anniversary. The deepness of Betty’s love was apparent in her extraordinary care for Ray.
Ray Lindamood is survived by his son, Steve Lindamood and daughter-in-law, Susan, of Houston, and his two children, Darren Lindamood of Houston, and Shannon Lindamood of Nashville, Tenn.
He is also survived by his son Bryan Lindamood and his daughter-in-law, Mary, of Lindale, and his four children, Sydney Lindamood of Tyler, Kyle Lindamood of Eustace, and Kassie Lindamood and Luke Lindamood of Lindale. Ray is also survived by his sister, Pat Woolfolk of Mount Vernon, and many neices, nephews and cousins.
Ray Lindamood is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond K. Lindamood and Lillie Robertson Lewis, his brother Bob Lindamood, and his sister Ruby Leath, all of Malakoff.
Family and friends will honor Mr. Lindamood at the Huckabee-Tomlinson Funeral Home in Malakoff, TX during a visitation on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and during a service on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. Brother Tommy Hayes will lead the service. Mr. Lindamood will then be interred at the Malakoff Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jerry Lindamood, Mike Baldwin, Nathan Brown, Cameron Lindamood, Chris James and Doyle Scott. Honorary Pallbearers are Travis Robertson and Benny Rogers.
