Services for D.J. Tidmore, 92, of Tyler, will be held on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Wiley and the Rev. Pike Weisner officiating.
Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Athens under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mr. Tidmore passed away Nov. 5, 2012 in Tyler. He was born July 4, 1920 in Hill County to H.C. and Jonnie Stover Tidmore.
D.J. was a member of First Baptist Church. He was raised in Pleasant Ridge, and was a graduate of Brownsboro High School. He was a World War II Army Veteran. D.J. was a retired building contractor. He was a loving and caring person to his neighbors and church family. and a blessing to his family.
In addition to his parents. he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise; brothers, Ellis Tidmore, Manard Tidmore, Elmo Tidmore and William Tidmore; sisters Earlene Palmer and Edna DeVries.
He is survived by his loving family, including sons, Robert Tidmore and wife Linda and James Tidmore and wife Judy; daughter, Kathy Womack and husband Bobby; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; siblings, C.W. Tidmore of Athens, Francis Fulgham of Malakoff, Maxie Barton of Athens and special friends, Larry and Linda Brown.
Pallbearers will be Bryant Tidmore, Michael Tidmore, Brad Womack, J.R. Newman, Logan Newman, Lance Ellis, Jess Satterwhite and Walt Tidmore Ottaberry.
Visitation is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
