ATHENS —
Michael Ray Blakely passed away on Nov. 4, 2012. He was born in Athens on March 7, 1946 to Wray and Frances Blakely. He was a long-time resident of Athens. He graduated from Athens High School in 1964. He served in the U.S. Army, then came back to Athens to work in construction with his Dad. He went on to work with his son, Brad, in resurfacing tennis courts.
he is survived by his wife Linda, three children, son Terry Blakely of San Antonio, Brad and wife Malissa Blakely of Eustace, and daughter Tammy and husband Gary Reynolds of Athens. He is the proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by two sisters, JoAnne Giles of Tyler and Joyce and husband Fernando Navarro of Athens; brother Bill Blakely; numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church, 2619 W. Loop 7, Athens.
