Services for Charles Richardson, 83, of Tyler, will be held on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Anderson, the Rev. Bo Richardson and the Rev. Brandon Montgomery officiating.
A Private burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Cemetery in Athens under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mr. Richardson passed away Monday, Oct. 21, 2013 in Tyler.
He was born Aug. 1, 1930 in Jacksonville to Marvin and Lottie Richardson. Charles grew up in Athens and attended schools there. He had been a resident of Tyler for over 30 years. On Oct. 11, 1952, he married Fayrene Phillips in Athens. Mr. Richardson worked in the concrete business for many years, from driver, manager, to owner, then retiring from TXI at the age of 75.
Charles was a member of Rose Heights Church of God and was a devoted Christian, husband and family man.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Janet Richardson and brothers, Clifford and Ted Richardson.
He is survived by his loving family, including: his wife of 61 years, Fayrene Richardson; son, Bo Richardson and wife Penny; grandchildren, Amber Richardson Hanner and Tara Richardson Symes and husband Cameron; great-grandchildren, Chase and Max Hanner and Brady and Mason Symes, all of Tyler; brother, the Rev. Kenneth Richardson and wife Diane of Grand Prairie; and two sisters-in-law, Marie Richardson and Jean Richardson, both of Athens.
Pallbearers will be Cameron Symes, Mike Harper, David Guthrie, Pat Elza, Bill Taylor, Ron Schomerus, Chris Mayfield and Tommy Ebarb.
Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandsons, Chase Hanner, Brady Symes, Max Hanner and Mason Symes.
Visitation is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway in Tyler.
