Athens — Athens- Funeral services for Deborah Burton, 66, Athens have been scheduled for 10 a.m., Tuesday at Eastern Hills Church of Christ with Dan Rogers officiating.

Burial will follow at Payne Cemetery.

Mrs. Burton died Friday evening in Tyler.

She was born July 19, 1947 in Indiana to the late Charles and Amelia Imogene Cole Swaggerty. Deborah had resided in Big Bear Lake, Calif. before moving to Athens in 2007. She was a member of Eastern Hills Church of Christ. Deborah had a passion for sewing and crocheting. She was an outstanding cook and loved animals. Deborah was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all that knew her.

Survivors include: her husband of 48 years, George Burton, Athens; daughters Julia Etka and husband, Don, Las Vegas, Nev., Jeannie Hoffman, Athens, Jackie Moller and her husband Dave, Mira Loma, Calif.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; brother Terry Swaggerty and wife Nancy, Las Vegas, Nev.; nieces Kim Collins and Stacy Townsend.

Pallbearers will be Don Etka, Kyle Hoffman, Andy Hoffman, Harry Hogue, Cleve Garrard, and Johnny Giles.

Honorary pallbearers are Terry Swaggerty and Mike Williams.

Visitation was held Monday at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home.
