A memorial graveside service for Harold Wayne Brooks, Jr., 61, Lake Jackson, formerly of Athens, is scheduled for 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013 at Oaklawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Eric Graham officiating.
Mr. Brooks died Nov. 14, 2013 in Houston.
He was born July 14, 1952 in Marlow, Okla. to the late Harold Wayne Brooks, Sr. and Elsie Jane Weyrick Brooks. Harold Wayne moved to Athens with his family in 1969, and was an Athens High School graduate.
He worked in the Opelika Gas Field operation from 1979 until 1998. In 2000, he was employed by MI Swaco of Houston. He took medical retirement in 2010. Harold loved hunting with his brother.
Survivors include: his wife of 31 years, Sharrai Ann Brooks, Lake Jackson; sons Scott Brooks and Jennie Garrison, Bradford, Wade Brooks, Scottsdale, Ariz., Perry Brooks and wife Meghan, League City, Thomas Brooks and wife Rebecca, Dickinson; brothers Darrell Brooks, Lufkin, Earl Brooks and Paula Finley, Athens, Jimmy Brooks and wife Shane, Palestine, Eual Walker and wife Linda, Nampa, Ida., Jerry Walker and wife Deanne, Canton; brother by-choice, Jack Littlefield and wife Jo, League City; grandchildren Nichole, Kameryn, Brady, Macy, Kassidy Grace, Jaxon, Kellie and Luke; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
