MALAKOFF-Services for James Robertson, 60 of Malakoff are scheduled for 11:00 A M Wednesday in Carroll-Lehr Funeral Chapel with Elder Nathaniel Lee, Bro. Maurice Caines, Bro. Sydney Taylor and Pastor Eddie Polite officiating.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Robertson passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014 at his residence.
He was born February 10, 1954 in Winona to Richard and Dorothy Nell Green Roberts. James was a resident of Athens 42 years before moving to Malakoff and was employed by Athens Independent School District 27 years. He was a member of Jefferson Seventh Day Adventist Church in Jefferson. He loved teaching and had a passion for drawing and travel.
He is preceded in death by his father Richard Roberts, sisters Dorothy Wright and Nelline Wanda Taylor and daughter Kimberly Rochelle Robertson.
Survivors include his wife Freda Robertson, Malakoff; children Jennifer Robertson, Tyler, Tipphany Fuller and husband Ricky, Tyler, Eric Robertson and wife Candace, Forney, Jarren Robertson, Athens, Jayde Robertson, Athens, stepchildren Stephanie Benson and husband Walter, Athens, Kamisha Moore, Dallas, mother Dorthy Nell Roberts, Athens, brothers, Jessie Roberts and wife Ruby, Richard Earl Roberts and wife Ellen, both of Athens, Willie Robertson and wife Teneta, Fort Worth, Walter Roberts and wife Annie, Wayne Roberts and wife Joanie, both of Athens, Gene Roberts and wife Luvera, Dallas, sisters Florine Phillips and husband Sonny, Starrville, Sharon Caines and husband Maurice, Brownsboro, Carolyn Johnson and husband Stacy, Moore Station and Pearl Roberts, Tyler, granddaughter Emilia Fuller, eight other grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Roberts, Tavares Barnes, Keith Walker, Chris Walker, Donald Walker, Jesse Green, Davince Wright.
Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Earl Roberts, Jessie Roberts, Willie Robertson, Walter Roberts, Gene Roberts, Wayne Roberts.
Visitation for family and friends will be 6-7 P M Tuesday at the funeral home.
A gathering for family and friends will immediately follow the service on Wednesday at Jugs Civic Center, 206 Edmondson Street, Athens, Texas.
