Lois Deupree Phillips, 98, formerly of Athens, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Oak Groves Nursing Home in Groves.
Lois was born May 7, 1912 in Athens to Walton P. Deupree and Katie Scarbrough Deupree. She was a lifelong Athens resident and retired bookkeeper.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, W. E. Phillips; brothers, Tom, Walton, Joe and Byron Phillips; sisters, Mary Avant, Florence McElhany, Addie Lou Williams and Kathryn Evans.
Survivors include her son, Walton E. “Mickey” Phillips and wife, Kathryn of Nederland; grandson, Garry Phillips and wife, Geraldine of Humble; and numerous nieces and nephews.
