Homer William Weir was born on July 31, 1947 in Palestine to the late Grady and Pauline Weir, and passed away peacefully on Oct. 5, 2012 with his loving family by his side.
Homer attended Palestine schools, and played Varsity football by the time he had entered junior high school, and was baptized at Norwood Heights Baptist church at age 14.
Homer was a heavy-machine operator, and could operate heavy equipment with precise knowledge. When Homer was not working, he enjoyed fishing on Cedar Creek Lake, making his famous peanut patties and watching football games. Homer also enjoyed spending time in his garden, and keeping an immaculate yard.
Homer is preceded in death by his parents and uncle, Aden Stokes.
Homer is survived by his wife, Kathie Weir of 39 years, two daughters; Dana Weir Dickerson and husband, Johnny of Garland and Angel Michelle Waldorf of Wisconsin.
Homer also leaves to cherish his three sisters, Patricia Yarbrough and husband, Danny, Brenda Weir, and Tracie Smith and husband, Danny, grandchildren, Thunder Dale Waldorf and wife, Elizabeth, Jonathan Blake Dickerson, Crystalynn Waldorf and two great-grandchildren.
