Athens — Athens – A Memorial Service for Donald W. Lamb will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 starting at 11 a.m. at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Athens.  The Rev. Michael Howard will be officiating the services.

Mr. Donald Lamb passed from this life on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 in Athens.  He was born on Thursday, Feb. 25, 1954 in San Antonio to R.B. Lamb and Ernestine Stewart Lamb.

Mr. Lamb attended the Cowboy Church in Ennis. He was a Navy Veteran, serving proudly on the U.S.S. Nimitz.  He served as a Scout Leader when his boys were young, and loved the outdoors where he was an avid hunter and fisherman, as well as a gardener.  Donald loved to ride his Harley, and enjoyed music, spending countless hours playing his guitars. 

Donald was a loving husband, father, Grandpa, brother, uncle and cousin, and will be greatly missed by all that he leaves behind.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Laverne Penrose, and two brothers, Johnny and Roy Lamb.  

Donald is survived by his wife of 34 years, Priscilla of Athens, three sons, Rodney Lamb and wife Shelly of Athens, Bradley Lamb and wife Melynna of North Richland Hills and Sean Temple of Virginia Beach, Va., two sisters; Barbara Beavers and Cori Gali both of Malakoff, two brothers, Jimmy Lamb and wife Gloria of Morgan, Texas and Steve Lamb and wife Yvonne of Malakoff, four grandchildren, Landon, Bryson, Emily and Chloe Lamb, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A visitation with the family will be held prior to the Service on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to: American Cancer Society,  1301 S. Broadway St.,  Tyler, TX  75701.

Arrangements were entrusted to Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.
