Athens — "LYNDA" was granted merciful deliverance from her long sufferance and rejoined her loving parents, Ruth and Preston Barnett on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013.

She is survived by her husband, Andrea, her aunt, Sherry Dyson and husband Travis, Athens, cousin, Karen Beebe, Granbury, brother-in-law, Alessandro Mangiavacchi and wife Mirtella, Rome, foster son, Abdou, Niger, and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of loving and caring friends.

Lynda was a devoted wife, a very generous and loyal friend with a great sense of humor and a deep love for animals.  She was always ready and willing to help others.

She lived with her husband in Houston, where she worked as an Executive Assistant for Gerald D. Hines. After she and her husband moved to London, where they lived for 11 years, Lynda worked as an editor for a major publishing house. Upon returning to the U.S., Lynda moved to Athens to care for her aging parents. Her warm and caring personality will be long remembered by the many who had the privilege to know her.

In accordance with Lynda's wishes, her remains will be cremated.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013 at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Chapel.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to charities that will benefit children and animals.
