Mount Pleasant —
Barbara Joan Brown, 80, of Mount Pleasant died Sunday January 13, 2013, in Mount Pleasant.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home with Brother George C. Yarger officiating. Interment will follow at Nevill's Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be William Brown, Nathan Brown, Travis Parks, Shawn Daley, Juan Duran, and Blake Palmer. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Reed, Morgan Carson, Jose Daley, and Roland Carson.
Mrs. Brown was born on August 8, 1932 in Payne Springs, Texas, the daughter of William Earl Carson and Ruby Rhodes Carson. She was a Registered Nurse and an avid quilter.
She is survived by two sons, one daughter, and two daughter-in-laws; Barry and Susan Brown of Mabank, Elizabeth Parks of Frankston, and Curtis and Lisa Brown of Mount Pleasant; grandchildren, Nathan and Mellissa Brown of Caney City, William and Hyuna Brown of Seoul, Korea, Dorinda and Paul McLeod of San Marcus, Juan and Tiffany Duran of College Station, Shawn and Tina Duran of Houston, Jose and Phyllis Daley of Tennessee Colony, Travis and Jeni Parks of Carrollton, Mellissa and Jody Simon of Frankston, Michael and Alexis Reed of North Las Vegas, Nevada, Natalie and Blake Palmer of Mount Pleasant; Great-grandchildren, Rebecca Brown, Samantha Brown, Robert Brown, Dakota McLeod, Paul Mitchell McLeod, Indelacio Duran, Donaciano Duran, Andronico Duran, Avriana Duran, Rosavella Duran, Kayla Duran, Jessica Duran, Billy Ray Daley, Levi Daley, Rene Daley, Whelan Sepulvado, Noella Sepulvado, Ian Simon, Skyler Simon, Chloe Reed; one brother and sister-in-law Dink and Geraldine Carson; and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Earl Carson and Ruby Rhodes Carson.
The family will receive friends from 1-2pm Saturday January 19, 2013 at the Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant.
