Athens – Memorial services for Tony Drees, of Athens are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Athens.
Mr. Tony Drees passed away on Jan. 1, 2013 in Tyler.
Anthony Drees was born on Aug. 1, 1937 in Hays, Kans. to Fredericus and Alberta Binder Drees. He was an avid golfer, and loved drinking coffee with friends. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather, and an amazing spirit that will be missed by all he touched.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Vergil Drees, Ed Drees, Kenneth Drees and a sister Norma Drees
“PaPa Tony” leaves behind his loving wife; Lila Fischer Drees of Athens, four sons, Marc and wife Lynne Drees of Moyock, N.C., Brad Drees of Wellsville, Kans., Mitch and wife Shelly Drees of Salina, Kans., Shawn and wife Flavia Dasilva-Farris of Clermont, Fla., seven grandchildren, Justin Drees, Emma Drees, Tate Drees, Riley Drees, Kaitlyn Meyers, Keenan Drees and Isabella Farris.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Tony’s honor to the charity of your choice.
Arrangements were entrusted to Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.
