Athens — ATHENS – A memorial service for Lynda Lewis Combs, 66, Athens is scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday at the East Texas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, 1601 Patterson Road in Athens with Marlin Smith officiating.

Friends and family are invited to fellowship and share memories 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Thursday at 1000 Dove Creek Parkway in Athens.

Mrs. Combs died Sept. 25, 2012 in Athens.

She was born April 18, 1946 in Fort Smith, Ark.  to the late Leon Howard and Alice Mae Pence Lewis. Lynda moved to Athens in 1962, and was a 1964 graduate of Athens High School. She earned an Associate Degree at Henderson County Junior College, where she served as a Cardette. Lynda was employed 21 years at Smith, Lambright and Associates.

In addition to her parents, Lynda was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Lee Combs, and brother Raymond Lewis.

Survivors include daughters Amy Lunceford and husband Todd, Athens, sons Craig Combs and wife Holli, Athens, Major Clay Combs and wife Heather, Washington, D.C., grandchildren Dani Lunceford, Aiden Combs, Jillian Combs, Kayla Combs, Karsen Combs, Kennedy Combs and Kylie Jo Combs.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Children’s Learning Center, P. O. Box 911, Athens, TX  75751 or Trinity Valley Foundation Scholarship Fund, 100 Cardinal Dr., Athens, TX 75751.
