Athens- Graveside services for Linda Lou Bone McAbee were held Monday at 2 p.m. under the pavilion in Post Oak Cemetery with the Rev. Anita Rasco officiating.
Linda passed away Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 in Tyler.
She was born in Dallas to the late Charles Franklin and Betty Jo Surratt Bone. Linda loved taking care of people. She was a Certified Nurse’s Aide and had worked at Park Highland Nursing Home for years. She was a graduate of Athens High School, and served in the U.S. Navy where she was a Petty Officer. It was there in the Navy where she met the love of her life, the late Gene McAbee. Linda was very proud of her children and loved them very much.
Preceding her in death are husband Harold Eugene McAbee, 1997; parents; brothers Phillip Bone, 1994 and David Bone, 2009.
Survivors include: her loving children, Damon McAbee and his wife Leah; daughter, Amanda Dawn McAbee; grandchildren, Levi Loden and Kayla Loden all of Athens; brothers, Charles “Buddy” Bone and wife, Ruby, Cedar Creek Lake, Kenneth Bone, Athens, Robbie Bone and wife Debra, Athens; sisters, Doris Parker, Dallas, Shelley Riggins, Athens, Francis Bone, Dallas, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of wonderful friends.
Family received friends at the funeral home Monday, 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Pallbearers were Damon McAbee, Levi Loden, Robbie Bone, Buddy Bone, Kenneth Bone and Jessie Brushette.
Honorary pallbearers were Mike Racker, Hondo Meredith and Desmond Brushette.
